Do I Need A Center Support Frame?

It seems incredible that over the last 38 years, bed slats and center support frames have been de-emphasized to the point that some retailers seem shocked when asked if their customer was provided a frame with center support for full or queen size bedding. Evidently, bedding manufacturers are to blame for not providing adequate information, into the hands of the retailer and consumers.

The information Provided is to better inform you, so that you understand how the bedding manufacturer feels about this important issue.

After conducting numerous tests in cooperation with leading motel chains, we have determined that full size bedding installed without proper center support will fail prematurely and queen size is almost certain to fail without center support.

After all, with the possibility of 300 to 500 lbs. Sleeping on a 53”-60” wide surface, it is easy to see why a 5th leg supporting the very center of the bed would improve firmness by as much as 20%.
